Improvising With Old Farm Equipment

Friday night I was pretty confident that I had planned every detail of a big video shoot, elaborate to do lists, schedules for the crew. I had lift reserved from the local rental place. They told me to pick it up sometime after 12:00, they didn’t tell me the store would close at 1:00pm. I spent the day trying to get a hold of someone at the rental place and searching for another lift. In Brookings, SD on the Saturday before Easter this seemed impossible. The pictured shows the sign I attached to their front door in hopes someone driving by would take notice. We decided to do the shoot anyway and set off for our location 15min south of Brookings. An old elevator was our savior. It wasn’t perfect but got the job done and we learned a lot. The sign on the door trick almost worked. Later that night after we had started shooting the owner called me. Stills from fiasco here.
